Keep your territory secure with this great USB Missile Launcher.
USB gizmos just keep on getting better! (...)

Keep your territory secure with this great USB Missile Launcher.

USB gizmos just keep on getting better! The latest weapon in office warfare technology, the ICBM (that’s Inter-Cubicle Ballistic Missile) plugs into any standard computer USB port. The control centre software allows you to control the azimuth and elevation (that’s side-to-side and up-and-down for non military people out there). When you have the target locked in your sights, press FIRE and the computer launches a foam missile, complete with whooshy missile sound effects!

You know a gadget has really caught on when hackers start producing modifications for them. Not satisfied with the bundled Windows 2000 / XP control panel, there is unofficial support for the Apple Mac, and for Linux. Or you could do what we have done here in the office, and tape a web cam to it. It certainly keeps visitors on their toes when they see a missile launcher tracking them around the office!

The missiles are launched by strong springs and have a range of about 3 metres, but as the missiles are nice safe foam, you are unlikely to do any damage unless they land in your manager’s coffee and he gives you a clip around the ear.

Computer controlled missile launcher

Motorised control system, pan 180 degrees, elevates 45 degrees.

Three foam missiles

PC software CD containing ‘Radar’ type control panel

Mouse or keyboard controls

Computer generated missile launch sound effects

Suitable for ages 5 years+ but includes detachable parts, so supervision is recommended for younger children.

Requires a standard USB port

Requires 3 x AA Batteries (not included)

Size: 8 x 6 x 5 inches (20 x 14 x 12.5cm)

The "brain-machine interface" developed by Hitachi Inc. analyzes slight changes in the brain's blood flow and translates brain motion into electric signals. Hitachi researchers say the "brain-machine interface" will someday help paraplegics communicate even without muscle control. Hitachi's scientists are set to develop a brain TV remote controller letting users turn a TV on and off or switch channels by only thinking.

The Compenion is a concept laptop designed by Felix Schmidberger. (...)

The Compenion is a concept laptop designed by Felix Schmidberger.

The system contains of a personal computer you take with you during the day (middle), several context-oriented docking stations, for example a home entertainment station for your living room (left), a "senstylus pen" to control the computer and a leather etui.

The personal computer is a slider with hidden second touchscreen. The second OLED touchscreen serves both as monitor and keyboard. You can place exactly the controls there that you need at the moment or have individual styles and themes to fit your taste.

You can tap away by hand or use the "senstylus" pen to control it, and through a series of docking stations the Compenion will adapt to the environment where you're using it. For example, the home dock might have a projector for viewing video, while the office might include ergonomic stuff like an external keyboard.

This type of design looks like the trend for new laptops to come in the future.

Microsoft recently announced a new product called Surface. It allows people to touch and move objects on screen for everything from digital finger painting and jigsaw puzzles to ordering off a virtual menu in a restaurant. It has a fancy touch screen interface and no wires. Microsoft Surface

The video and the invention is truly amazing.

According to the Naples Daily News:

The prosthetic is designed to do the same work as a real finger. It can bend down, point forward and even wag back and forth. The finger can even support the weight of a full cup of coffee or clutch a golf club.

The X-Finger is kind of like a tinker toy that is strapped to the stub or remaining portion of a finger. When the stub moves down it pushes against a lever called a pan that curls the artificial knuckles.

"There’s no learning curve," Didrick says, as he straps on one of his devices on his own index finger. As he curls the tip of his index finger, the X-Finger curls in-step.

WinePod is a new generation of personal, interactive winemaking. By integrating all aspects of winemaking from equipment and grape sources to consulting enologists it has never been easier to make your own custom fine wine wherever and whenever you want.

The WinePod integrates fermentation, pressing, and ageing in one elegant unit yet it is simple and easy to use. The WinePod controls the heat of fermentation and maintains appropriate ageing temperature using electronically controlled thermoelectric heating and cooling. Your wine ferments and ages in a variable-capacity stainless steel tank with an integrated wine press. The WinePod collects and transmits fermentation and temperature data wirelessly to your PC where our software offers winemaking guidance and manages your processes and records.

Wine lovers can now make their own wine at home.

Erm… I forgot to mention… it's $3,500.

GUPI is highly autonomous, he walks around in the house without bumping into anything or falling off a table or the stairs thanks to sensors in its eyes and legs.. GUPI is so smart he can also walk through a maze and you can be assured that he will find a way out.

GUPI has a very interactive playing behaviour, if you don't play with him he becomes lonely and scared and he will go and hide in a dark place. But if you caress him he will feel loved and will be happy. GUPI can also hear you and he will react to voices and sounds, depending on his mood …..

When GUPI is happy he will actually come running at you when you call him, but when he's scared he can't stand noise and will run away from it. When happy, GUPI will also follow a light beam so you can lead him wherever you want him to go. When GUPI gets hungry you can feed him (read : recharge his reloadable batteries) through a little carrot, and he's ready for a lot more fun together with his friends.

As such GUPI creates the 'Tamagochi'® binding-effect. Gupi has unique identification codes in the chipsets, therefore, when other Gupi's are in the vicinity, they will express excited behaviour and they will learn gradually how to accept each other, how to share 'food' (battery re-loader), and how to play with each other! When one or more Gupi see one another they will sing and dance with each-other in a cute manner.

This is the Gupi Version 3.
